Goat sculpture

Middle-east area, 15th Century

Goat-shaped basalt sculpture, coming from the Middle East area and datable to the 15th century.
It is a decorative element probably inserted in a hole in the wall, as evidenced by the rear part of the work, not sculpted but kept in a rough state.
It can also be assumed that it was accompanied by numerous other similar statuettes to create a repeated decoration for the entire perimeter of the room.
